Jazz Flight




For over six years, bassist Robb Fisher toured and recorded with the legendary Cal Tjader, anchoring Cal's Grammy Award winning album, "La Onda Va Bien" and Grammy Nominee album, "Gozame Pero Ya." He has also worked extensively and recorded with such jazz and Latin luminaries as Chet Baker, Art Pepper, Carmen McRae, Tania María, Clare Fischer, Rob Schneidermann, Eddie Marshall, Dick Whittington, and Anita O’Day.

Robb appeared here previously with Doug Webb, Jon Mayer, Charlie McCarthy, George Cotsirilos, Rob Schneiderman, the Robb Fisher-Matt Clark Trio, and the Robb Fisher-Keith Saunders Trio.




Guitarist Kai Lyons is from the Excelsior District of San Francisco. From 2012-2014, Kai attended the prestigious jazz program at William Paterson University of New Jersey, directed by Mulgrew Miller. He studied with Vincent Herring, Gene Bertoncini, Harold Mabern, Rich Perry, and Hal Galper. Kai received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from San Francisco State University where he studied with Andrew Speight, Michael Zisman, and Hafez Modirzadeh.

Since returning to the Bay Area in 2015, he has freelanced extensively, and also traveled frequently to New York City, New Orleans, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Ghana.

Besides working with his own trio, Kai has performed with Mike Clark and Donald Harrison, Louis Romero, Wil Blades, Larry Vuckovich, Sueños, and Illy Bogart.

Parker Grant is a San Francisco based pianist and keyboardist who performs around the Bay Area in a variety of genres and configurations.

He can be seen performing regularly with Fog City Swing at the Dawn Club, and with the Local Edition Jazz orchestra. He is a member of the band Harold Imperiled, and is a music teacher and accompanist at the Adda Clevenger school in SF.

He appeared here previously with Alan Hall.




San Francisco-born Brandon Etzler is one of the most sought-after jazz, funk and R&B drummers in the Bay Area. Drawing on influences such as Idris Muhammad, Elvin Jones, Bernard Purdie, and Roy Haynes, Etzler has forged a unique, syncopated, yet melodic style of drumming.

He has played and recorded with Will Bernard, Brian Coogan, Wil Blades, Donald Harrison, Steppin', and Grammy nominee Betty Joplin.
