Noam Lemish / George Marsh Duo


Pianist, improviser and composer Noam Lemish is a multi-faceted artist whose performances and compositions are characterized by intense lyricism and energy. Based in Toronto, Lemish is presently engaged in a diverse array of projects including: a duo with percussionist George Marsh ( "Nightfall", 2013 & "Yes And", 2008 ); a trio with bassist Jim Kerwin and Marsh, a duo with improviser/composer Will Johnson, and a quartet presenting his compostion "The People’s King" as a jazz concert.

Lemish has appeared in numerous performances across the US, Canada, Europe, Israel, and in Bhutan, having played and performed with such musicians as: Sheila Jordan, John Handy, Julian Lage, James Newton, Dayna Stephens, Frances-Marie Uitti, Mel Graves, Babatunde Lea, Cameron Brown, Mel Martin, and many others.

George Marsh is a San Francisco based jazz drummer, composer, and educator, currently with the Noam Lemish/George Marsh Duo and the David Grisman Sextet.

His recordings include those with John Abercrombie, Terry Riley, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Pauline Oliveros, Denny Zeitlin, Maria Muldaur, and many others.

"Inner Drumming" is Marsh's first drum instruction book, a highly praised and unique manual for drummers. George has taught drumming and rhythm theory at the University of California at Santa Cruz, and at Sonoma State University since 1982. He maintains a private studio in Santa Rosa, California.
