Lorca Hart Organ Trio


Drummer Lorca Hart grew up in a musical family in Taos, New Mexico.

He attended California Institute of the Arts, graduating with a BFA in Jazz Percussion Performance. While there he was able to study under Albert "Tootie" Heath, Joe La Barbera, Charlie Haden, and Wadada Leo Smith.

Since then, Lorca has worked with Ralph Moore, Carmen Lundy, Freddie Hubbard, Calvin Keys, Stanley Jordan, Craig Handy, Herman Riley, Azar Lawrence, Red Holloway, Plas Johnson, John Heard, Bennie Maupin, Phil Ranelin, Dave Pike, Don Menza, Hugh Masekela, the Clayton Brothers, Anthony Wilson, Julian Lage, Doug Webb, and the group that he co-leads with bassist Ryan Cross, the Cross Hart Jazz Experience.

He was heard here previously with his trio featuring Josh Nelson and Edwin Livingston, the Dave Scott Quartet, Dima, and the Johnnie Valentino/Kenneth Burgomaster/Michael Pedicin Quintet.

Guitarist Mike Scott was born in Fukuoka, Japan while his father was stationed overseas. He grew up in Ohio, New Jersey, and Arizona before moving to southern California at the age of 18 to pursue a career in music. He studied at Fullerton City College and transferred to the University of Southern California where he earned a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Music Performance.

Since graduating Mike has enjoyed a varied career performing, recording, composing and teaching. He has performed throughout the United States, recorded for television and film soundtracks, played as a sideman for a number of CD projects and has had the opportunity to perform with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Monica Mancini, Seamus Blake, Matt Wilson, Abraham Laboriel, and Vince Mendoza. He has also performed with the Colorado Symphony, the Pasadena Pops Orchestra, and the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall.

Mike is currently a faculty member at Fullerton College, and has released three CDs as leader or co-leader.

Hammond organist Brian Ho began playing piano at the age of five, taking lessons at both Stanford and San Jose State. By the age of sixteen, he began to play professionally. One of the most influential experiences he had was playing organ for an African American Baptist Church for several years as a teenager.

Brian is fortunate to play with some of the finest musicians, including Richie Cole, Calvin Keys, Akira Tana, Josh Jones, Leon Joyce, Jr., Dave Ellis, Melicio Magdaluyo, Christian Tamburr, Peppe Merolla, Chuck McPherson, Bob Kenmotsu, Terrence Brewer, Rick Vandivier, Wally Schnalle, Nicholas Bearde, and Jason Lewis.

In 2012, Brian released his first CD entitled “Organic” which features guitarist Calvin Keys.
