Scott Foster Trio


Guitarist Scott Foster received his Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He pursued additional music studies at University of California Davis, and private studies with Jon Damian, Rick Peckham and Henry Robinett.

Scott is an active performer as leader of the Scott Foster Trio and Quartet and as a sideman with many local groups.

His musical associates include Michael Bluestein, Dan Foltz, David Boyce, Noah Schenker, Dave Mihaly, Grant Levin, Adam Shulman, Jimmy Ryan, Chuck Peterson, Dave Scott, Larry de la Cruz, and Daniel Fabricant.


Since moving to San Francisco in 1999, Sam Bevan has established himself as one of the most versatile and creative bassists in the Bay Area.

The foundation was laid for Bevan’s career where he began classical piano lessons at the age of four. Sam's adoption of the electric and acoustic bass followed periods playing jazz and classical piano, singing professionally, and getting a BA in French.

Sam has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists including: David Grisman, Zigaboo Modeliste, Joshua Redman, Roswell Rudd, Houston Person, Kenny Washington, Joe Locke, Michael Wolff, Jim Kweskin, Geoff Muldaur, Joe Craven, Meklit Hadero, Lisa Engelken, Jackie Ryan, Jacqui Naylor, The VNote Ensemble, Telepathy, Nathan Clevenger, New Pickle Family Circus, Ian Dogole, Fil Lorenz, and the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.

Sam appeared here previously with the Johnnie Valentino/Kenneth Burgomaster/Michael Pedicin Quintet.

Surya Prakasha grew up in the Bay Area, began drumming in high school, and went to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. There he studied with drummers Greg Bandy, Adetobi Jackson, and Michael Rosen. He studied jazz history and theory and music of the African diaspora with Wendell Logan and Adenike Sharpley.

Surya has been performing for the last 15 years. He performs with Dave Scott, Amanda King, Terry Disley, Lavay Smith, Mascha Campagne, Brian Moran, Trio Paz, Gary Schwantes, and Bolo, as well as other projects.

He has been teaching drumming for 13 years and currently teaches from his studio in San Pablo.
