Guitarist Matthew Charles Heulitt
has been on the bay area scene for 20 years doing session work, touring
internationally, working for a multitude of artists as a side-man as
well as leading his own groups.
He spent 15 years with master drummer Zigaboo Modeliste of The Meters,
and the last 10 touring and recording with Grammy award winning
producer/drummer Narada Michael Walden (Jeff Beck, The Mahavishnu
Orchestra). His work with east bay art-pop band MoeTar landed him a
feature article in Guitar Player Magazine in 2015.
MCH has a BM in jazz performance from the
University of Miami and has studied with many teachers including Wayne
Krantz and Ben Monder.
The MCH Quartet offers an opportunity to explore the jazz side of his
playing which has influences of Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, and the
Brian Blade Fellowship.
Multi-reedist (tenor saxophone, oboe and English
horn) and composer Matt Renzi has been performing
professionally for the past 20 years at international jazz festivals
and music venues worldwide.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Music (Performance) from the Berklee
College of Music and Master’s in Arts (Classical Composition)
from San Francisco State University. Some of his teachers include Joe
Henderson and South Indian Vocalist R.A. Ramamani.
Matt can be heard on a variety of recordings including the award
winning “Lines and Ballads” (Fresh Sound Records)
as well as his latest release entitled “Lunch
Special” (Three P’s Records).
Matt has performed and recorded with Marc Johnson, Michael Formanek,
Eddie Marshall, Herbie Lewis, Ben Monder, Eberhard Weber, Bob Moses,
Ralph Alessi, Bobo Stenson, and
the Berlin Philharmanic Quintet.
He appeared previously at Chez Hanny with Eddie Marshall, David
Ambrosio/Russ Meissner, Shoebox Orchestra, Dahveed Berhroozi, Matt
Renzi Trio, Matt Renzi Cello Quartet, and Matt Renzi "Three Yard
Mile".
Bassist Miles Wick earned his B.A. in Jazz Studies
at Sonoma State
University where his teachers included William Allaudin Mathieu, and
Mel Graves.
He has performed with Mel Graves, Noam Lemish, George Marsh, Mel
Martin, Charlie McCarthy, Babatunde Lea, Randy Vincent, Dave McNab,
Dred Scott, Keith Saunders, Bryan Bowman, Smith Dobson, Kasey
Knudsen, Susan
Sutton, Luke Westbrook, Michael Coleman, Jack Riordan, Sheldon Brown,
and Ben Goldberg.
He appeared previously at Chez Hanny with the MQW Trio with Michael
Zilber, and Amos Hoffman & Noam Lemish Quartet.
Tim Bulkley is a drummer and artist located in the Northern
California area.
Tim is known for a musical, intuitive approach to drumming. He grew up
taking piano lessons, taking art classes, singing in choirs, and
studying the drums. His professional career as a musician started early
and has stayed a constant for over 25 years. Tim spent the years of
2006 - 2017 living and working
in Brooklyn NY & 2000 - 2006 living and working in San Francisco
CA.
He has played and recorded with artists including Dayna Stephens,
Michelle Amador, Goh Nakamura, Evan Francis, Anton Schwartz, The
Invisible Cities, John Lester, Postmodern Jukebox, Adam Platt, Stacey
Kent, Boz Scaggs, Peter Bernstein, Telepathy, Wil Blades, Dandelion
Dance Company, and BodyVox Dance.
He appeared previously at Chez Hanny with Julian Pollack.
